Lupin Limited is an Indian multinational pharmaceutical company and is one of the largest generic pharmaceutical companies by revenue globally. The company's key focus areas include paediatrics, cardiovascular, anti-infectives, diabetology, respiratory. Lupin is a leading player in the respiratory segment and is adopting technology to pioneer best-in-class treatment protocols for the management of respiratory conditions. Lupin is also working on leveraging gadgets in a drug-device equation to monitor and ensure patient adherence to therapy, in order to improve clinical outcomes.
Brief
As a part of creating awareness about the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), the Respira team of Lupin planned a COPD Walkathon event that aimed at involving doctors and COPD patients. We were approached by the client to manage end to end event. The venue was finalised as Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP), Mumbai.
Step 1
We planned a couple of meetings at the SGNP along with the client and authorities in charge to understand execution and branding opportunities. There were a several challenges that were spotted by the team and we tried to come up with a solution to the same to ensure we do not compromise on the event experience. Team identified the route for 1Km, 3Km and 5Km walk and possible branding opportunities on the way and starting point.
Step 2
Post recci the team created a layout and flow of the event and understood the scope of work. We worked on the renders, aligned local workforce, procured material required for the event. The design agency involved by client helped us with artworks for every branding location as per the recci PPT shared by us. We had a registration desk, direction and quote standees on the pathway, photo booth and awards ceremony post event.
Step 3
The set-up started at night and team finished up everything around 4am. Client and their team arrived at the venue by 5 am and we had a joint meeting to ensure the event goes smoothly. We stationed people at respective stations and explained them their duties. Being a no network zone we couldnโt be dependant on phones/walkies though we had arranged them as a back-up. The team was well-aligned & then we started welcoming the participants.
Step 4
The event started well-in time and saw good participation by doctors, patients and team Lupin in all 3 categories of the walk. We did not have an exclusive venue and had to ensure we do not disturb other visitors in the SGNP who come regularly for exercising, walking or running. The video and photo team ensured they caprtured all moments. We kept a couple of vehicles to run supplies/video-photo team to different stations.
Conclusion
The venue was vast and task was crucial. With a well-deployed team we ensured a flawless execution and also received good media coverage.
