Star Awards 2023-24 | Phuket

Lupin Limited is an Indian multinational pharmaceutical company and is one of the largest generic pharmaceutical companies by revenue globally. The company's key focus areas include paediatrics, cardiovascular, anti-infectives, diabetology, asthma and anti-tuberculosis. With an extravagant workforce of more that 20000+ employees, Lupin takes various employee centric initiatives to ensure they create a healthy and happy work culture.


Brief

One of the much awaited event by the employees in Lupin is Star Awards as it is a destination event and also helps emplpoyees spend a quality time along with their families and making them a part of the recognition ceremony. Every year over 2000+ pax travel to a destination with a super exciting 4 day itinerary to explore, engage and celebrate the achievements. SOTC is the travel partner for Lupin and it engages event planners to manage production and execution for the event. We were routed to SOTC to pitch for the event and within a couple of meetings we bagged the project. Phuket it was for 2023 Star Awards.


Step 1

We have a good support system across India but it had been some time that we planned a destination event with such an extent. We were suppose to keep the bar high with meticulous planning and seamless execution. The hunt began with a local vendor to engage them into planning from stage 1.

Step 2

We reworked on the logo to give it more celebrating and cheerful look. Based on the logo, we worked on other renders for the event that involved grand stage, photo booths, entry, beach party activities and set-up, kids zone set-up and registrations. The main challenge in this event was it had to run long with approx. 500 pax travelling after an interval of 4 days each. The same itinerary was to be followed for all 4 groups. We also met head of each group individually and took them through the plan and designs to take their feedback. We also had a task at hand on finalising innovative filler acts to add more glamour to the event.

Step 3

Involving the local agency from day 1 made a huge difference as we knew what was doable and what wasnโ€™t. The team was very supportive and we used to have regular calls with them. After the designs were locked we started transferring files to the local vendor to start the production work. We also planned how to create similar experience for all 4 groups across the 4 days. The 4 day highlight AV was also crucial to be delivered immediately post the event. We aligned everyone and procured some stuff from India.

Step 4

The team went in couple of days prior to meet the vendor and ensure things were aligned before they leave the office and then the team arrived at the venue. Production work started and everything went smoothly. All set-ups had to be done 4 times as per the schedule and we had a good local support who managed things well. Show management was also taken care of well with timely trophy arrangements, alignment of artists, emcee and the lining up winners before every category.

Conclusion

Being a destination event, we were more dependent on our local support and they had to be aligned well with the timelines, expectations and kind of experience we wanted to create for our client. The local vendor is a seasoned company and exactly delivered what we envisioned and the show was a super success.
